Famous journalist Habib Battah got into trouble while flying from Paris to Toronto aboard an Air France flight. Before taking off, he smelled a terrible smell of feces and blood coming from under his seat. He had to clean up the source of the stench himself. This was reported by the British newspaper Daily Star.
The tourist was flying with two cats, which were in carriers under the chair. The resulting smell made him think that his pets had not endured until the disembarkation. However, the reason for the smell was even more shocking when crew members confessed to Khabib what happened on board during the previous flight.
“I said it smelled like shit. The flight attendant handed me wet wipes. I started to wipe, the tissues were red – blood red. I couldn’t understand what was going on,” he shared. “I just wanted to see what it was. After a while, one of the flight attendants said: “You'd better go wash your hands, and here are your gloves.”
The victim and his wife were offered two small bottles of Evian water as compensation for what had happened. They were forced to sit for the next seven hours, breathing in a foul odor. The journalist noted that the smell of rotten blood is similar to the smell of feces: “We had to sit there, inhaling the smell of blood for the next seven hours. The smell of rotten blood is similar to the smell of manure. I took off my shoes at the beginning of the flight, and there was blood on my socks.”
The journalist learned the details after his flight. But it was too late, the traveler removed this terrible “decor” on his own. Three days after the incident, Air France called him and said that there were indeed traces of blood mixed with feces under his seat. It was clarified that the passenger, who made a flight from Paris to Boston on June 29, felt unwell. Details of the incident were not reported. The carrier explained that the board was full, so the couple simply did not get other seats. An internal investigation is currently underway.
