Sometimes an essential attribute of a vacation turns into an attraction
Around the World features several unusual pools in Europe, Asia and Australia .
Infinity Pool
Singapore
The concept of a limitless, or shoreless, pool is not new, but it is fascinating. Especially when the pool is on the roof of three 55-story hotel buildings. On a platform of more than a hectare, covering the three buildings of the Marina Bay Sand hotel, there is a park with a hundred trees, restaurants and shops, and most importantly, a 150-meter-long swimming pool, which offers the best view of Singapore. Going swimming with a camera is a great idea.
Badeschiff
Germany, Berlin
The “bath ship” is moored on the Spree River, not far from Treptow Park. The 32x8m public swimming pool was once the hull of a barge. Badeschiff opened in 2004 as an art project designed to draw public attention to an abandoned section of the river. Attracted and became very popular. After all, the color and quality of the water in the pool contrast markedly with the corresponding characteristics of the river.
Cliffside Pool, Hotel du Cap-Edenroc
France, Antibes
The “endless” pool of the legendary hotel on the Cote d'Azur is almost 110 years old. So we can say with great confidence: the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, John F. Kennedy, Winston Churchill, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and other stars plunged into this bowl of sea water, carved on the edge of a cliff. Today it is as comfortable here as it was a century ago. No dogs or paparazzi allowed.

Hanging Gardens of Bali
Indonesia, Ubud
The cascading pool of the Hanging Gardens Hotel, located in the center of Bali, has been included in all the most prestigious lists of “the best pools in the world.” Standing on the edge of one of the bowls hanging over the lush tropical forest, you can admire the valley and the rice terraces in the distance, enjoying complete merging with nature.
Villa Honegg
Switzerland, Ennetbürgen
The blue of Lake Lucerne and the green of the valleys in summer, the snow-capped peaks of the Alps in winter, the clouds of mist in autumn – the view is always beautiful, and the season does not matter if you look at things from the outdoor infinity pool at an altitude of 914 meters above sea level. All the senses are delighted here: the water is heated to 34 degrees, and relaxing music flows from somewhere deep.

Bondi Iceberg Club
Australia, Sydney
The pool complex on Bondi Beach has been a local attraction for about 100 years. If the sea is restless, then the waves overflow, which makes swimming an adventure. Rescuers monitor safety.
Gellert
Hungary, Budapest
The capital of Hungary is famous for its thermal springs. “Gellert” is one of the most pretentious, beautiful and expensive bathing complexes. It was opened in 1918 and is decorated in an Art Nouveau style with exquisite mosaics, tiles, marble columns, modernist furniture, stained glass windows and bronze sculptures. In the baths there are many pools with water of different temperatures. The central gallery has become one of the visiting cards of the resort city.
