Amshir brought the Egyptian winter to Hurghada: tourists complain about the “cold” wind and put on jackets

“Tell me, what is the weather like in Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh now, is it cold to swim?” – this question began to dazzle popular publics in Egypt on the Vkontakte social network and Telegram chats. The answers, on average, are not encouraging for tourists – their colleagues, who have already flown to resorts, complain about the “cold” wind and put on jackets. And the Egyptian media, referring to the data of the Egyptian Meteorological Bureau, are reminiscent of the cold month of “Amshir” of the ancient Coptic calendar and urge Egyptians and visitors to the country to monitor weather changes in order to dress according to the season.

The official forecast for Hurghada is quite bearable – from +19°C to +22°C during the day, +13-14°C at night… However, the cold wind “puts everything in its place” and, judging by the messages on social networks, tourists have different impressions , but in general, ideal weather cannot be called. “We are not happy with the weather, the wind is cold, in the evening we wear winter jackets,” one of the tourists answers on VKontakte. “The animator got into a sheepskin coat in the evening,” adds another.

Some tourists, however, are more “frost-resistant”. “The sun, sunbathing is great, but it’s scary to climb into the sea, the cold wind,” tourists from Sharm el-Sheikh write. “It’s a little warmer in the water than outside, I got out and ran away to warm up,” writes another tourist.

The weather in Egyptian resorts will “balance” on the verge of + 20-22 ° C according to the forecast for at least a week. In general, the notorious month of Amshir will formally last until March 8.

OUR INFORMATION: Amshir, also known as Meshir, is the sixth month of the Coptic calendar, which, according to some statements, is based on the ancient Egyptian one. The month lies roughly between modern February 8 and March 9. As the calendar assures, “winter winds abound” this month, which tourists feel firsthand.
