Russian tourists start visiting another tropical island

Russian “luxury” tourists who want to diversify their holiday experience on the islands in the winter season will be offered another option for recreation. In the autumn season, arrivals of Russian tourists to another tropical island will begin – according to ATOR, the tour operator FUN&SUN will offer a program to Mauritius. We are talking about blocks of seats on Emirates connecting flights on the Moscow-Dubai-Mauritius route. The program will be organized from September 22 to December 8, 2023.

The details are as follows: the standard duration of the tour is 9 nights, but options are possible. From Moscow, departures from Domodedovo are announced at 16.55, with arrival in Mauritius the next day at 09:10 in the morning. Tourists can offer 117 different accommodation facilities, including a number of popular hotels on instant confirmation. Prices – from 344 thousand in 4* to 476 thousand in 5* for the first flights.

At the same time, experts note that the Russian tourist flow to the island of Mauritius in the first half of 2023 increased by 27.7% more than in pre-Covid times. In figures, the statistics are as follows – in January-June, 8157 people arrived on the island, in 2019 this figure was 6386 people.

At the same time, we recall that in April the question was raised about plans to launch direct flights from Mauritius to Russia. At the same time, the island's authorities announced that they expected to receive Russian Prime Minister Mishustin to “show face” the opportunities that Mauritius is ready to offer Russia – primarily in the field of tourism. As the country's ambassador to Moscow, Hesvar Janke, said in an interview with RIA Novosti, direct flights from Russia will be launched within a few months, the issue is practically resolved. “Many Russians like to visit Mauritius, and we are working with Aeroflot to launch direct flights … The issue is almost closed, but there are several aspects that we are working on,” the diplomat literally said. He further expressed the hope that direct flights will appear within a few months. Read more here.
