Introduction:

Bhimashankar temple is situated on the hills of Sahyadri Range near to Pune, Maharashtra.

The temple here enjoys gorgeous location and is a trekker’s paradise.

This is also the place from where one of largest tributaries of Krishna River originates, called the Bhima River.

How To Reach:

My suggestion will be to reach Pune, Maharashtra from any part of India and then take a MSRTC Bus or a Tourist Cab to reach Bhimashankar Jyotirling.

The Distance is approximately 110 KMS and takes 3 hours to reach Bhimashankar Temple from Pune.

Bhimashankar Temple is at a walkable distance from Bhimashankar Bus Stand & Car Parking.

You must climb down a fair number of steps (approximately 300 steps down), don’t worry there are lots of places to sit and rest on the way.

My suggestion will be to stay in Pune, as you will find very limited options for Stay and Food near the temple.
