Spain's visa centers in Russia have returned the opportunity to apply to our compatriots for Schengen visas, as it was before the coronavirus pandemic. However, Russian tourists will have to get to this Mediterranean country with transfers, because. direct flights between the countries were interrupted after the start of the special operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine and the introduction of air sanctions against Russian airlines by the collective West.
According to RIA Novosti with reference to BLS International, after the changes, travelers are no longer required to have special grounds to apply for a visa to a popular European country. For example, during the pandemic, Russians were not issued a primary Schengen, so only those who previously had an annual visa or other special reasons for obtaining one could go to Spain. Currently, in order to receive a document, it is enough to complete the registration procedure on the site and prepare a bank statement on monetary transactions for the last three months.
The previously popular Mediterranean country has already taken a step forward towards the resumption of international tourism: it has eased anti-COVID restrictions on the entry of our compatriots and tourists from other countries. The Spanish authorities have finally allowed entry to Russian tourists who have been ill with covid or presented a negative test result. The decision on free borders was made by the Ministry of the Interior and entered into force last Saturday, May 21. Thus, from the same day, travelers from non-EU countries, including Russia, can now enter Spain for tourism purposes, provided that they present not only a vaccination certificate, but also a negative PCR test performed 72 hours before entry or test for an antigen, the biomaterial for which was handed over 24 hours before crossing the border. In addition, Children under the age of 12 are exempt from presenting any type of certificate.
In early May, the Spanish Institute of Tourism calculated how much the absence of Russian tourist traffic in 2022 would cost Spain. 1.4 billion euros – such an amount was named by experts. The famous resort of Costa Dorada, a favorite vacation spot for wealthy travelers, especially felt the outflow of our compatriots.
