Hotels and restaurants in Turkey confidently hold the first place in terms of price growth the entire summer season. According to the latest data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the increase in hotel prices held the first place in May, June and July in comparison with any other sector of the Turkish economy: and again, as they say, they calculated and were horrified – the increase in hotel prices over the past month remains shocking: up to 100 % compared to last year “didn’t reach” quite a bit.
At the same time, according to TUIK, inflation on average in the country in August amounted to 9.09% compared to the previous month, 43.06% compared with December last year, 58.94% over the same month of the previous year. However, the figures for hotels are significantly higher.
Hotels topped the rating of price rises in May, June and July, and remained the champions in the campaign in August. The increase in prices in restaurants and hotels compared to last year amounted to 89.31% compared to last year, that is, there is not much left to 100%. By July, prices had risen by another 7%, and on average they increased by 75% per year.
By the way, the industry that is important for tourism and hotels is also in third place in terms of growth rates – this is food and non-alcoholic beverages . There, prices increased by almost 73% by August.
