Introduction:

Ramanathaswamy Jyotirling is one of the holiest Shiva Shrine and is located on the Rameshwaram Town situated in the Pamban island in Tamil Nadu state of India.

This Jyotirlinga is believed to be worshipped by Lord Rama and is closely associated with Ramayana.

How To Reach:

For reaching Ramanathaswamy Jyotirling in Rameshwaram, you can either start from Bangalore OR Chennai as your Base Location.

From Bangalore you can either take a KSRTC Government Bus or a Private Bus or a Direct Train or a Tourist Cab to reach Rameshwaram which will take approximately 11 hours at a distance of 584 kms.

From Chennai you can either take a TNSTC Government Bus or a Private Bus, Direct Train or a Tourist Cab to reach Rameshwaram which will take approximately 10 hours at a distance of 606 kms.

Just outside the Rameshwaram Railway Station or Bus Stand, you will get Auto’s on Individual or sharing basis to reach Ramanathaswamy Jyotirling.

The distance is approximately 1.5 kms and takes about 5 to 7 Minutes to reach there.

You will get many budget friendly hotels or bhaktanivas near the temple at a walkable distance.

You will also get many budget friendly restaurants nearby the temple serving North & South Indian Dishes.

Temple Opening & Closing Hours:

Morning: 5:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Evening: 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

Devotees visiting this jyotirlinga, also visit Dhanushkodi beach, from where Lord Rama had built a Ram Setu up to SriLanka.

To Reach Dhanushkodi & Ram Setu View Point, you can take a local bus which is available every hour from Rameshwaram Bus Stand.

It will take approximately 25-30 Minutes at a distance of 23 kms.

Also Don’t miss witnessing the beauty of the Pamban Bridge – A Railroad bridge that connects Rameswaram to mainland India.
