Russians do not need them: Russian tourists in Turkey reported severe discrimination when checking into a hotel

They don't need Russians: Russian tourists in Turkey reported severe discrimination when checking into a hotel< /p>Discrimination against Russian tourists – and, most unpleasantly, financially too – began in hotels in Turkey. Such unexpected news was announced in her blog on the Yandex.Zen channel by a Russian woman living in Turkey. It was about the five-star Side Crown Palace 5 * hotel in Side: according to her, the hotel mainly “specializes” in German pensioners wintering at sea, as for the Russians, they are not expected there, and moreover, they are rudely “rejected”, and this is despite the advertising of this hotel in Russian search engines. From the Russian tourists who arrived at the hotel, without a twinge of conscience, they demanded to pay an extra 80 euros, stating that the low price indicated by the hotel was not at all for Russians, and in general “behaved in a boorish way, just saying, pay extra or leave, we don’t really need you here” , – the tourist is indignant.

The hotel, according to the tourist, they “found on Ostrovka at a super bargain price.” Recall that Ostrovok.ru is a Russian online hotel booking service. “One night and two full days for our family of two adults and a child cost only 3,000 rubles! Imagine yes? It's like eating twice in a restaurant. And here you have “all inclusive”, sauna, hammam and all that. Moreover, the reviews about the hotel were good, ”the tourist writes. At the same time, she herself and her daughter had to check into the hotel a day later, and her friends who “went to explore” were testing the hotel, is everything normal there for such a price, “suddenly they only feed french fries there and neither the hammam nor the sauna are working.” With food, everything turned out to be “better than one could imagine”, the “scouts” ran into something else.

“As it turned out, this is one of those hotels in Turkey where European pensioners came to spend the winter. For the price, it's really good for them. Almost 100% of the hotel is inhabited by Germans, and all the staff there speaks two languages: Turkish and German. When friends came to the reception to check in, they were told that the price at which they booked a hotel was the price “not for Russians, but for German tourists”! And they immediately asked me to pay 80 euros,” said the indignant tourist. At the same time, according to her, they didn’t accept any arguments at all, “behaved in a boorish way and“ they just said, pay extra or leave, we don’t really need you here, ”and, as she assures, she also softens the expressions.

“Friends were shocked. They say they have never had such a harsh reception in a hotel before in their lives. As a result, they called Ostrovok and outlined the situation to them. In Ostrovka, they said that friends can pay extra, and the service will return the money to them, ”added the tourist. She herself decided not to go to this hotel. “Situations like this really spoil our mood. The whole holiday, probably, would have walked and thought how to avenge them for such an unfriendly reception. So we will definitely not go to Side Crown Palace. We blacklist it,” she said.

In the comments, however, opinions were divided – both those who agreed with the tourist and those who complained about “Russian” hotels came to them. Some of them also suggested that the nationality of tourists had nothing to do with it – it was all about problems between the hotel and the booking service, with which commentators also got extra payments.
