Introduction:

Somnath Temple in Gujarat is regarded as the first among the Twelve Jyotirlingas and one among the most worshipped pilgrimage sites in the country.

The temple architecture resembles Chalukya style and Lord Shiva is believed to have appeared in this shrine, as a sizzling column of light.

How To Reach:

My suggestion will be to reach Ahmedabad, Gujarat from any part of India and then take a GSRTC or a Private Bus or a direct Train to Somnath.

Somnath Temple is at 1 KM from Somnath Railway Station and 500 Metres walking distance from Somnath Bus Stand.

You can find Auto’s on Individual or Sharing basis just outside the Railway Station or Bus Stand.

Stay & Food Options:

You will get many budget friendly hotels near the temple at a walkable distance.

You will also get many budget friendly restaurants nearby the temple serving Gujarati & Punjabi Thalis & also North & South Indian Dishes.

Temple Opening & Closing Hours:

Darshan Timings are from 6 am To 9:30 pm.
Aarti Timings: 7:00 am, 12:00 pm, 7:00 pm.

Traveller Tips:

Just opposite the New Somnath temple, you will find the Old Somnath Temple also known as Ahilyabai Holkar Temple.

Must Visit while you are in Somnath.
