The planned return of Chinese tourists will bring tourists a new tightening of covid measures. At least Thailand has already stunned all tourists with the news that the authorities have decided to introduce new restrictions on entry into the kingdom, and again turn to anti-covid barriers. According to the proposal of the Ministry of Health, any tourist at the entrance will have to present proof that he received at least two doses of the vaccine before arrival. And while the measure is planned to be introduced because of the returning Chinese, it will apply to tourists of all nationalities.
In fact, the Thai Ministry of Health is planningto reintroduce the old entry requirement amid fears that Chinese tourists will bring large numbers of Covid-19 cases to Thailand. Moreover, the head of the department, Anutin Charnvirakul, did not specify when the measure would come into force, but it is quite possible that this will happen sometime before January 12, when the first flight from China to Thailand should arrive at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport.
However, until the introduction of this measure is confirmed. The requirement for vaccinations and other measures must first be approved by the Cabinet and there is little hope that they will still not pass this barrier. As well as other proposals, such as the return of mandatory Covid insurance and the return of masks on public transport and in public places.
