Not all Turkish resorts are equally popular with Russians. The Turizm Ajansi publication presented statistics for June and the first six months for the resort of Izmir – as it turned out, in this popular resort region, Russian tourists are only in fifth place and are inferior even to Poland.
According to statistics, the total number of tourists who arrived in Izmir increased by 7% and amounted to 534 thousand people. At the same time, a 5% drop is recorded in June compared to last year – then the number of tourists reached 193 thousand people, in June 2023 there are slightly fewer of them – 182 thousand.
At the same time, according to the Izmir Provincial Department of Culture, and tourism, the Germans remain – Germany took first place with 184 thousand 320 people. Germany is followed by Great Britain with 60 thousand 976 people and the Netherlands with 33 thousand 333 visitors. Russia, on the other hand, entered only the top five, and in fifth place, “putting” to the resort only about 21 thousand tourists – and letting Poland go ahead with a result of almost 29 thousand tourists.
The top ten also includes such countries like Iran, France, Belgium, USA and Ireland. But the result of all these countries is less than 20 thousand people.
