Tourists in Antalya warned of heavy rains and thunderstorms

Tourists in Antalya have been warned of heavy rain and thunderstorms

Heavy rain and thunderstorms will hit the resort province of Antalya from March 13th. A storm warning has been issued.

According to the Anadolu Agency, the current week at the resort was marked by precipitation, which in the next seven days will not stop, but will develop into powerful downpours and a storm with a break for 1-2 days of calm and sunny weather. So it will be, for example, on Wednesday. It is known that due to precipitation in the areas of Kepez, Konyaalti, Aksu and Muratpasha, there were interruptions in transport. Because of the streams of water formed on the roads, drivers had to wait out the bad weather. However, there were also those who were walking along the coast of Konyaalti in the rain.

As noted by experts from the Regional Meteorological Department No. 4 in Antalya, Antalya, Burdur, Isparta and Mugla on the weekend were influenced by rainy weather that came from Balkans. “The wind is expected to blow from the south across the region in the form of a strong storm, inland areas are also expected to have a short-lived strong storm and a powerful one at higher elevations,” the forecasters said.

Temperatures are forecast to drop approximately to the average seasonal norm, and from Sunday, March 12, the amount of precipitation will decrease significantly, but not for long – in the second half of the week in the eastern regions of Antalya, Manavgat, Alanya, Gazipasa and Akseki there will be showers again. Due to the turbulent weather, tourists were urged to be careful.
